I’m Siobhan Warren, an early careers specialist and career coach.
For the past 15 years, I’ve worked with organisations to design and lead graduate, intern and early careers programmes, both here in NZ and on a global scale.
I created Thrive to bring that experience to young people earlier — helping them understand themselves, explore their options and make better-informed decisions about study, careers and work.
Why that experience matters.
I understand the decisions students are making now, but I also know what employers look for when they recruit young people with limited experience, how they assess potential and how graduate and intern recruitment works.
That means our conversations can go beyond what could I study? to also consider where could this lead, and how can I prepare for it?
My approach.
I don’t believe career coaching should tell a young person what they should become.
My role is to help them understand themselves better, ask useful questions and explore possibilities. That way, they’re building long term career management skills.
I use strengths-based assessment, career research and my experience to bring structure to that process — while keeping the student at the centre of the conversation.
The aim isn’t to find one perfect answer. It’s to help them make a good next decision and feel more confident about what comes next.
